Visiting Ypres, Belgium

During the first World War, Ypres was the centre of the Battle of Ypres between German and Allied forces.

Year 9 and 13 students visited Belgium just before half term to explore a series of sites linked to the First World War.

On Thursday students visited the Passchendaele Museum and took part in the Last Post ceremony where two students and one member of staff laid a wreath in honour of the fallen.

On Wednesday students were taken to a number of diffrerent locations by a guide who shared with them the history each place. Students visit s included to Tyne Cot, Langemark and Essex Farm. It was a deeply meaningful and moving trip.
