Our senior debaters competed at the St Paul’s Girls’ Women’s Open Debate Competition on Saturday 26 September, taking part in three challenging rounds and tackling motions such as “This House regrets the predominant belief that suffering builds character” and “This House, as a high-ranking politician, would defect from the Tory Party to Reform UK.” We are incredibly proud of all the students who represented the school with confidence, critical thinking and skill.
Special congratulations go to Ada and Ileana in Year 11, who progressed to the Gold Final and finished among the top three teams out of fifty competing teams. This outstanding achievement reflects not only their talent as debaters, but also the valuable communication and analytical skills that debating helps to develop.
