Black History Month 2026

This October, we are proud to mark Black History Month 2026, joining schools and organisations across the country in celebrating this year's theme: Honouring Our Communities. Through assemblies and discussion, we will recognise and celebrate those who may not be household names, but whose contributions, leadership and selflessness help shape stronger communities and create lasting change.

This year's national campaign highlights 54 individuals from across Britain whose work spans education, healthcare, public service, culture, heritage, youth development, business and social justice. In a world that can sometimes feel increasingly divided, these stories remind us of the values that bring people together and encourage our students to reflect on those within their own communities who make a positive difference.

By recognising and valuing these contributions, we can gain a deeper understanding of our shared history and the community we continue to build together as a school.
