We are very grateful to have had Dr Jacqueline Dickson, a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College London, visit our school to deliver an inspiring workshop titled “Careers in Life Sciences: Where Can Biology Take You?” for our Year 10 cohort and Year 12 Biology A‑level students.
As the Educational Development Lead for Imperial’s new MSci in Medical Science and Innovation, Dr Dickson shared a wealth of knowledge about the many career pathways available to young people interested in the life sciences. She highlighted that students who are passionate about biology and improving human health do not need to become doctors or clinical professionals to make a meaningful impact.
Dr Dickson explored a wide range of fascinating roles open to life sciences graduates, explained the skills needed to succeed in these fields, and offered practical advice on choosing the right university course. Students also enjoyed an exclusive peek into the innovative new MSci programme being developed at Imperial College London.
