This project has been a long time coming. Lighting in the chapel was so poor that it limited its use in dark winter afternoons. Many of the old fluorescent strip lights and large 'barn door' theatre lights no longer worked.

In recognition of the chapel's Grade II* listing and to enhance its atmosphere as a sacred space, a new lighting scheme was designed incorporating two rows of pendant lights copied from those designed by our chapel's architect at St Mary's Cadogan Street. Large brackets were designed to support the pendants with discrete spot lights to create atmosphere and to highlight architectural features.

Plans also included the cleaning, repair and wired installation of the two original sanctuary lamp brass brackets.

A new sound system and projector (with a large screen rolled up and fully concealed behind the main arch) would then enable the 'decluttering' of the sanctuary, removing its two free standing screens, used in assemblies and talks.
