Verulamium Museum Trip

Students in Years 7–10 recently visited the Verulamium Museum in St Albans, one of Britain's most important Roman heritage sites. Built on the remains of the ancient Roman city of Verulamium, the museum houses a remarkable collection of artefacts, mosaics and interactive displays that bring Roman Britain to life. The visit gave students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the Roman world by exploring original objects and learning about daily life nearly 2,000 years ago.

One Year 9 student reflected:

The trip was very fun and I learnt how to interpret artefacts and imagine their uses in the past. I got to handle 2,000-year-old artefacts, also learning about the importance of status and how it impacted one's lifestyle in ancient times. My favourite thing about the trip was looking at short films with historical actors presenting how it was like in Roman England.
