| The Goal of Building Community |
On Tuesday evening the sun shone and over 200 people joined us for a party to commemorate the life and legacy of Madeleine Sophie Barat on the occassion of the centenary of her caninisation and 50 years since the creation of the five Goals of Sacred Heart Education which are based on her values.
The reception room housed a large exhibition about her life and the food provided by the school kitchen caterers, was magnificent! We are indebeted to the PTFA for their assistance and to our parents -Paul Kelly and his team - who manned the bar all evening and to another parent Dorota Trawinska who donated the cocktails. Thanks also to another parent, Marcin Urban for his fantastic photography!
We are still totting up the finances but we expect to have raised approx £3,000 from this event towards our cloister paintings restoration fund.
Thank you to every one. It is always a joy at these events to see alumnae and teachers reuniting after so many years -lots of smiles and hugs all around.
