The Globe Players' performance of An Inspector Calls was a captivating adaptation that offered both entertainment and educational value, particularly for students studying the play for their GCSEs. It brought J.B Priestley's key themes, like social responsibility and class, to life in a way that was easy to follow and interesting. Despite some audience members not studying the play as part of their curriculum, they were still able to enjoy the dramatic tension and clever staging choices.
One standout aspect of the production was the exceptional performance by an actor who skillfully took on the multi-rolling challenge of portraying Mr. Birling, Eric, and Gerald Croft. Switching seamlessly between these distinct characters, the actor brought each one to life with unique mannerisms and vocal shifts, ensuring clarity despite the quick changes.
Delivered with wit and precision, the cast brought J.B Priestley's classic tale to life, captivating the audience from start to finish.
