Relic of Madeleine Sophie comes home!

Such a wonderful visit yesterday by  Barbara Livingstone (nee Hobley) and her school friend Anne Fean (nee Stewart) who were both students at Sacred Heart, Hammersmith in the 1960's.  Barbara also taught science here.

Barbara's grandmother was housekeeper to Fr Ryan from St Osmonds.  When she started at Sacred Heart Fr Ryan gave Barbara a relic from Madeleine Sophie Barat and Barbara came to see us because she wanted the relic to have a good home.

On behalf of Sister Cath, Provincial Superior, Alex Dijkhuis accepted the relic which this will be available for our community to see at the Garden Party in July, which in part celebrates 100 years since the canonisation of Madeleine Sophie.

It was also form part of our earlier whole school Mass at 1.45pm on Friday 23 May which celebrates the centenary of Madeleine Sophie's canonisation

We are forever grateful to Barbara for her gift.
