STEM/STEAM |
Ada Lovelace Day is an international celebration of the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEAM). It aims to raise the profile of women in STEAM, create new role models for girls to encourage them into STEAM careers, and support women already working in these fields. Founded in 2009 by Suw Charman-Anderson, Ada Lovelace Day is celebrated annually on the second Tuesday of October, which this year fell on 8 October.
Our STEAM prefects did an amazing job promoting this year’s Ada Lovelace Competition to all year groups at KS3 and KS4. We received many outstanding entries, and selecting a winner was no easy task!
All students who participated embodied the Sacred Heart goals of intellectual growth and personal development. Through their critical thinking, creativity, and perseverance, they demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence and self improvement - values at the core of our mission statement.
Congratulations to the winner of this year’s competition, Bella R (7H), with her fabulous entry!
