Sixth Form Visit to London Zoo

Just before half term, Year 12 & 13 Psychology students went to London Zoo to carry out a research project observing animal behaviour.

Pupils were taught how zoo keepers classically condition the animals when training them and were tasked to record animal behaviour using special iPads.

Some of the enclosures were open to students, who sat and interacted with lemurs and colobus monkeys as they collected behavioural data. One student reflected:

“I thought it was really interesting to observe the animal’s behavior, especially the monkeys because they’re very similar to humans”
