In October 2026, the Library hosted an all-years drawing competition inspired by the themes of history and archaeology, and our students submitted some truly impressive entries. Using a range of mixed media, pupils showed great creativity and attention to detail as they brought iconic figures from history to life.
Congratulations to our three winning students: Thalia H-M, for her striking portrait of Queen Victoria; Alenna D., for her powerful depiction of Saint Joan of Arc; and Sophia P., for her detailed drawing of Hedy Lamarr.
The winning entries have now been submitted to a national competition run by the Don Hanson Charitable Foundation, where they will compete against schools from across the country. As well as individual recognition, there is the exciting possibility of winning up to £500 worth of new resources for the school library. We will find out the results of the competition on Friday 23 October 2026.
We are incredibly proud of all the students who took part and wish Thalia, Alenna and Sophia the very best of luck in the next stage of the competition.
