We are very proud to announce that our Year 11 student, Eliana is one of a small number of girls worldwide taking part in a Day of Action at the UN next week for the lnternational Day of the Girl.
Eliana is a part of the JPIC centre of the Sacred Heart Community and was inspired to participate in this international event after meeting Sr Rachel Guillen RSCJ last March. Members of the JPIC centre are encouraged to use their voices for good and to raise true opinions on contemporary issues in order to carve a hopeful pathway for the future.
The image above is a snapshot from Eliana's video on Instagram, where she discusses why we should all be investing in girls. You can check that out and more on the Day of the Girl Summit page here.
Every year, International Day of the Girl is celebrated by the UN as a powerful tool to appreciate and listen to the voices of girls around the world and to mobilise further advocacy work to support those who continue to suffer. You can read more about the day here.
