| The Goal of Personal Growth |
Our Year 9 students set out into the wilderness at the end of April for their two-day expedition as part of the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. For many, it was their first experience of camping and orienteering, helping to develop confidence, resilience and teamwork as they solved real-time challenges. The warm weather certainly helped to make the experience all the more enjoyable.
Sacred Heart as been facilitating the Duke of Edinburgh Award for our students for decades and remains a valuable opportunity for pupils to build new skills, boost their CVs, and step outside their comfort zones. That said, after a few days of cooking baked beans on a camping stove, many students were overheard looking forward to returning home to some well-earned home cooking!
