The Goal of Personal Growth |
You may remember that Daisy K in 8T wrote to the Major of London with a suggestion to help bus travel. The Mayor then replied to Daisy and offered her the chance to come and meet some TfL staff and to look around.
Daisy and her sister, Lily, who will be joining Sacred Heart in September, visited TFL for the day during the Easter holidays. Daisy was greeted in the morning by Lorna Murphy, who is Director of Buses for TfL, at Waterloo Bus Garage. At the garage she was given a guided tour by several very knowledgeable engineers and managers about bus operations all over London. Daisy was allowed to sit in the cabin of a bus.
After, Lorna took Daisy to Palestra House, where she was given a tour of the London Underground Control Centre, and then the Buses Control Centre. These were an amazing experience and all the staff there were very kind to Daisy and answered all of her questions.
Daisy really enjoyed her visit, and was delighted to receive several small gifts including badges and pens, from the Underground and Buses staff.
