The Wimbledon Ball Girls team for 2024 has been carefully selected after a rigorous audition process. With over 70 students vying for a spot, the competition was tough and the talent pool was exceptionally strong this year. After four rounds of auditions, only the most dedicated and skilled girls made it to the final training team.
The chosen girls had to attend early morning training sessions, which consisted of stamina tests, reaction tests, court work practice, WBG theory revision and exams, as well as tennis ball drills to prepare them for their role as ball girls at one of the most prestigious sporting events in the world - The Wimbledon Championships.
As part of their preparation, these talented ladies also had the opportunity to attend a trial session at AELTC centre in Wimbledon itself. This experience was truly special for them and helped them gain valuable insights into what it takes to be a successful ball girl.
Now with just one final trial session left before they compete with other schools at Wimbledon in January, our WBG team is working harder than ever.
