| Life at Sacred Heart |
Yesterday in the beautiful sunshine, we said goodbye to our Year 13 students on their final official day at Sacred Heart.
It all began with a special Leavers’ Liturgy, to which parents and guardians were warmly invited. Together, the community gathered to celebrate a remarkable cohort and to give thanks for all they have shared with the school. During the service, we recognised academic achievement, leadership, faith, and the many musical talents that have enriched our school.
One moment of the liturgy was particularly meaningful. Our Headteacher, Mrs O’Donovan, offered each student an anointing with oil as a sign of encouragement and blessing as they prepare for what lies ahead. Pupils also received a small gift from their form tutor, including a keyring holding mustard seeds, a Miraculous Medal and a prayer card.
The Scripture chosen for the prayer card captured the spirit of the occasion and the hopes we all hold for this year group as they begin their A Level exams and look towards the future:
"Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20-21 NIV
The day was also captured in photographs from the Cloister Garden and the leavers’ celebration, which will be shared as a gallery on Connect soon.
