The Harry Potter Club celebrated the end of the first term at Hogwarts (SHHS branch) with an amazing Christmas party. There were Harry Potter-themed treats such as delicious Golden Snitches (thank you Rose's mum!), chocolate kisses for each Hogwarts house (thanks Tayla-Rae) and a host of other goodies.
Y9 House Captains Xenia and Michaela then led a brilliant quiz with rounds including: guess the Harry Potter character from a very close-up picture; is this a quote from Harry potter of not?; complete the line from Harry Potter; and Pottergrams (Harry Potter anagrams). The final round was a spectacular murder mystery.

Shock horror! Gryffindor brainbox Hermione Grainger has been found dead in the bathroom at Hogwarts - she has been murdered! But who could have carried out this awful deed? One clue remains - clutched in the palm of her hand was a crumpled note which read:
“Don’t repair a cat or malignant alligator, lest fear overcome you. Kissing is lovely lamentation, eagerly distinguishing macabre eyes.”
The three prime suspects are:
· Draco Malfoy - sworn enemy of all Gryffindors.
· Moaning Myrtle - resident ghost of the Hogwarts bathroom
· Professor Dumbledore - venerable headmaster who discovered Hermione's body
Can you work out which of these suspects was the murderer? The clues are all there - if you look very closely.
Thanks to all of the girls for making the Harry Potter club such brilliant fun this term and to the House Captains for preparing such a fantastic quiz. Oh, and I forgot to mention, the winner of this year's Christmas quiz was... Hufflepuff!
