Sacred Heart Sixth Form Design and Tech students took part in an exciting creative collaboration with Chelsea College of Art and the Worshipful Company of Founders as part of 'Flora and Fauna under Threat’ - a project that challenges young designers to research threatened species from London and transform their stories into meaningful bronze sculptures via the process of Lost Wax casting.
The project included three local schools; Sacred Heart High School, Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, and City of London School for Girls. The awards showcase was recently hosted, bringing together students, families and industry and education partners to celebrate the incredible creativity of the students invloved. In the competition, Sacred Heart achieved an outstanding result, finishing 1st and 2nd out of 14 entries and receiving the award for Best School Submission Overall.
The awards ceremony took place at the beautiful Founders Hall where Dominika K was awarded 1st prize for her detailed Hazel Dormouse sculpture and Sofia N was awarded 2nd prize for her Long Eared Bat sculpture. All of our students contributed so well to an amazing competition with a range of beautiful end-pieces. Congratulations to everyone who took part!
