The Five Goals of Sacred Heart Education |
The goal of faith is all about your relationship with God and getting closer with God. In our school, faith is extremely important as we try to keep Jesus at the heart of everything we think, do and say.
For the first time, we managed to start the school year with a wonderful whole school mass - over 1,100 students and staff filled the Sports Hall and Fr Martin Poulson was the celebrant. The mass was really special, as it was our way of celebrating fifty years of Sacred Heart Goals; with the main focus on the Goal of Faith.
Throughout the months of September and October we continued to focus on the importance of our faith in assemblies and year group masses.
During morning prayer in our forms, we discussed the why faith is extremely important to us and within our Catholic school community. We shared prayers and biblical quotes that were meaningful to us and wrote some of these on our class poster.
To help build and strengthen our relationship with God we talked about trying to attend mass regularly, pray and ask for forgiveness and to read the Bible. We also suggested some books in the Bible that would be useful to read in order to strengthen our faith, such as: Psalm 41 and 40 and Matthew Ch 5.
God is always here for us when we need him so it is really important that we have a good relationship with Him.
