Teacher Training |
Do you know anyone who is thinking that they might like to train to be a primary or secondary teacher? The courses, most of which lead to PGCE(M) QTS, are all for ONE year starting in September 2026, and are open to anyone holding an honours degree.
There is a really useful free local event happening here at Sacred Heart High School on Tuesday 7 October 5.15pm - 7.45pm. This has been organised by the West London Teacher Training Alliance based here at Sacred Heart. We have an alliance of over fifty local schools both primary and secondary; and we have partnership agreements with Roehampton University and St Mary’s University, Twickenham.
The event includes a a useful presentation at 5.30pm (repeated at 7.15pm) explaining the different types of course and qualifications, what those courses look like, what loans and funding are available, and how to make a successful application.
You will also be able to meet a range of other local teacher training providers from west / southwest London to discuss the many courses and vacancies they have for September 2026 and the entry requirements. With some of these, including WLTTA, you can choose a specific school where you will do the majority of your training, ideally a school where you would aspire to work as a teacher.
Sacred Heart set up WLTTA over ten years ago and we have been working closely with the University of Roehampton and St Mary’s University, Twickenham to train excellent teachers for many years, so we are delighted to support this event. Please do come along if you are interested in training to teach – and tell your friends!
Applications for teacher training courses starting in September 2026 open the same day as the event- 7 October 2025 - so attending this event will give you a useful head start.
Free places for this event can be booked here: West London Train to Teach 7 October/ Eventbrite
