Do join us at 7pm on Thursday 3 July at the Irish Cultural Centre at 3 Blacks Road, Hammersmith for an evening of Irish Intergeneration.
We have up to 90 free tickets available for you to book below.
Over the past 6 months 22 students from Year 9 have been involved in a project where they interviewed six Irish elders who emigrated to London. They found out about their life story growing up in Ireland, their experiences have been like since moving to London, their opinions of the younger generation in London and how they became involved with the Irish Cultural Centre. This involved students also developing and using skills in Photography, Cinematography and Editing.
This project culminates in a screening of the film as well as galleries of portraits of the elders and photos taken during the interview process with them. The students will be presenting a creative response on the night of what they have learned about their elder, including poems, songs, acting sketches and photo collages.
